Configure Templates

After you added compute resources, you can set up templates. Templates are a fully preconfigured operating system environment packaged into a tar or gzip archive. A basic template includes data needed for a minimum OS installation, however, templates may also include applications and additional OS components.

OnApp templates are used to deploy virtual servers in your cloud. The OnApp template library includes over 100 virtual server templates based on various 32-bit and 64-bit distributions of Windows and Linux operating systems.

To configure templates in your cloud, follow the next steps:

  1. Go to the OnApp template library at Templates > Template List.
  2. Click System Templates > Available to see the full catalog of templates that can be downloaded. You can download as many templates as you require.
  3. Create a new template group at Templates > Template Store. You can add any templates you have downloaded to the template group.
