Backups Never Complete and Size Is 0 Bits

Issue

Backups never complete and the size is 0 bits.

Resolution 

Please ensure the following is set in /etc/sysconfig/i18n:

LANG="en_US.UTF-8"

After this change, the Storage API service should be restarted or the server rebooted.

Cause

It can be caused by the language on the compute resource or backup server changed from the default one.
